Harry G Meenach, 78, a native of Maysville, and the borther of Mrs. R Fred Cablish, of West Third Street, died at 3 a.m. Saturday at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, Ohio.

Mr. Meenach, whose home was at 117 Cedarhurst Street, St Mary's, was one of the Dayton area's best known and most successful businessman.

In 1913, Mr. Meenach established an auto park and gargae business in Dayton. Later he owned and operated Villa View Parkk adn Trailer Court at St Mary's and Bay View Lodge.

Active in Democratic politics, Mr. Meenach was approached in 1950 to run for the Ohio Senate. A Dayton Daily News staff writer said at that time. "There is now and has been for many years a crying need for a man of Mr. Meenach's caliber in the state senate. His financial position is such that he would be able to devote just about all of his time to the job."

In his more youthful days, Mr. Meenach studied law for four years at Brothers College in Dayton but never practiced. Earlier he had attended engineering school in Cincinnati.

For a number of years, Mr. Meenach was one on Montgomery County's most successful farmers, having managed farms of hundreds of acres. Also at one time he was the largest turkey raiser in that county.

Educated at Maysville High School, he was the son of Mr and Mrs William H Meenach, representative citizens of this community. Date of his birth was July 6, 1897.

Mr. Meenach's first wife, the former Rose Bornhorst of St Mary's died in March of 1946. Ten years later he married the former Faith Ione Williams, a registered nurse, who was 57 when she died Jul 13, 1957.

A man of high integrity and outgoing personality, Mr. Meenach was popular among all who knew him. Maysville friends will be greatly saddened at his passing and will extend condolences to his devoted sister, the former Mary Edna Meenach.

Mrs. Cablish was driven to Dayton Sunday by her grandson, Alexander H Calvert, of Louisville.

Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in suburban Dayton.
