Born in Grant Parish, this 66 year old former employee of the town, dealer in cattle and timber worker, spent his entire life in Winn and Grant Parishes.
Surviving besides his wife, Mrs. Ada S. Smith, are five daughters, Mrs. Ruby Long, Mrs. Venita [sic Vernita] Jennings, Mrs. Sam Carson, Clotile Smith, and Ms. John Hudnell of Winnfield; five sons, Clyde, Esley, Marshall, and Hardy of Winnfield, and Perry K. Smith with the Armed Forces on a transport overseas; three brothers, W. M. Smith of Carroll Parish, J. B. and J. P. Smith of Winnfield, and five sisters, Mrs. Emma Boyette, Mrs. Bessie Mercer, Miss Rosie Smith, Mrs. C. W. Fox, and Miss Lonnie Smith of Winnfield.
