Services will be at 2pm Wednesday in Turkey Church of Christ with Delos Johnson of Quitaque officiating. Burial will be in Flomot Cemetery by MersLong Funeral Directors of Turkey.
Mr Shannon was born in Sanger, Denton county. He was a farmer.
He married Annie Velma Purdy in 1934 in Silverton.
Survivors include his wife; 2 daughters, Velma Jane Winston of Monroe WA., and Carol Jean Martin of Silverton; 2 son, Billy Shannon of Quitaque and Doyle Shannon of Roaring Springs; 2 sisters, Lena Nichols and Faye Murphy; 4 brothers, Fate Shannon, John Shannon, floyd Shannon and Henry Shannon; 11 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
