Ronald Powell, Sept. 20, 1912-Dec. 13, 2004, Ronald Powell, 92, Rochester, passed away at 3:45 a.m. Monday at Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis. Born on Sept. 20, 1912, in Rochester, he was the son of Samuel D. and Dora Bibler Powell. On Dec. 16, 1933, in Rochester, he married Lova K. Musselman. She survives. Mr. Powell retired from the U.S. Post Office. He was a co-owner of a meat market and grocery as well as a scrap yard. From the age of 16 until his mid-80s, he played in numerous bands as a drummer. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Elks Lodge 2120, and Moose Lodge 1107, all of Rochester. Survivors include his wife, Lova K. Powell, Rochester; daughters, Jaren Gentile, and Judy and husband Ivan Klobucher, all of Rochester; grandchildren, Ronald Gentile, Palo Alto, Calif., Kevin Gentile, Superior, Colo., and Kristen Stebbins, Rochester. He was preceded in death by his parents and half brother, Julian Powell. His funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. Rick Taylor officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today and one hour prior to his service at the funeral home. Burial will be at IOOF Cemetery, Rochester. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church.
