She was born on January 23,1920,in Kermit,WV,to the late Fred and Sallie(Varney)Sparks.
She was married to Virgil Thompson for 27 years and he preceded her in death.
She later married Melvin Himburg for 10 years and he too preceded her in death.
She is survived by 3 brothers:
Homer Sparks of St Marys,Oh,
Thomas Sparks of Columbus,Ohio
Harlen Sparks of Louisa,Ky.
1 Sister,Chloie Lewis of Shiloh Oh.
She is survived by 4 daughters:

Clara Dick of Cygnet
Loretta Wenig and Rosetta Thompson, both of Bowling Green

Charles Thompson of Grand Rapids,MN;
24 grandchildren,51 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 2 daughters:Bertha Farison and Janet Thompson;5 great-grandchildren.She preceded in death by 2 sister and 2 brothers..
Mae had worked several jobs,but retired from D.S. Brown in 1980.She enjoyed camping,quilt making and her many children and grandchildren.
A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m.,Tuesday,July 14,2009 at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore,with Pastor Russ Merrin officiating.Burial will be in Belleville Ridge Cemetery,Dowling,Ohio.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m.,Monday, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and/or a charity of the donor's choice, in her memory
