Obituary of Jacob Hutchins
"The old gentleman Hutchins, living near the school
house about three miles southwest of town, died on
Sunday, and was buried from the schoolhouse
(Hutchins District #17) on Tuesday, his funeral being
conducted by Rev. Maynard. He was one of the old
time settlers of the county, about 75 years of age, a
deacon in the Baptist Church in his neighborhood
since its organization and a man highly esteemed."
