He is survived by his wife, Edna Woodard Vause. The service will be at 1 p.m. EST Saturday at First Baptist Church in Havana, with burial at Arran Cemetery in Arran.
He was a Navy veteran.
He retired from the Tallahassee Police Department after 31 years of service and from the Capitol Police after 16 years.
