KING, NC ~ The Rev. Edd Durham, 82, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born April 10, 1921, in Stokes County to George W. and Victoria Palmer Durham. The Rev. Durham was a member of King Baptist Mission Church. He was a man of God who loved praising the Lord. He was a dedicated and faithful husband, daddy and grandpa. He was preceded in death by his 11 brothers and sisters. The Rev. Durham is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margie Cromer Durham of the home; two daughters, Libby Martin and husband Lynwood, and Patsy Stafford and husband Earl, both of King; five grandchildren, Shannon Bowles and husband Rodney, G'Anzie Garner and husband David, Tiffany Boyles and husband Michael, Chad Stafford and wife Philana and Eric Stafford and wife Jodi; eight great-grandchildren, Tyler and Taylor Bowles, Isaak, Benjamin and Abigail Stafford and Bailey, Christina and Grace Stafford. The funeral service for the Rev. Durham will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31 at Slate Funeral Home in King with the Rev. Johnny Bowen, the Rev. Chad Stafford and the Rev. Eric Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in the King Baptist Mission Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 30, at the funeral home and other times at his home. The family requests that memorials be made to King Baptist Mission, c/o Johnny Bowen, 217 Turkey Hill Drive, King, NC 27021.
