Came to America in 1735 and settled in Pennsylvania

Served as a Lieut in the American Revolution from the State of South Carolina

The following is added at the request of Find A Grave contributor Vonnie Cantrell

Lt. Robert Armstrong, DAR Ancestor Number A003156, fought at the Battle of King's Mountain. (His son, Robert, married Elizabeth Weir, daughter of Samuel Weir who fought as a lieutenant at the battle.)
