OBITUARY
Minerva, daughter of Josephine and Lodwick Davis was born at Portland Mills, Ind., Sept. 15, 1832 and departed this life May 28, 1923 at her home in Clinton township after a short illness of heart trouble. She was the oldest resident of Clinton Township, being 90 years, 8 months and 13 days old. On Dec. 11, 1865, she was united in marriage to Elzy Byrd. To this union were born six children one of whom Laura E. Died in infancy. another John W. passed away a few years ago. After her marriage she spent most of her life in Indiana with the exception of a few years spent in Missouri. Her husband preceded her in death several years. She was a member of the Christian life should he an example to all who met her. Every one who knew her loved her. She was always a great help to her many friends. The children of the school near her home always went to "Auntie" or ,'Aunt Minerva" as she was called. for help as they knew she would gladly bestow it. She always enjoyed their presence and often said she missed them during the summer months when they were gone. She leaves to mourn their loss three daughters and one son: Harriet Alward of Fountain County; Rachel M. Graham of Clayton; Sarah E. Wingert of Whitesville and Charles H., with whom she made her home, several grand children, great grand children and a host of other relatives and friends. She also leaves behind the remembrance of a fine Christian, friend and neighbor as well as a loving mother. CARD OF THANKS The children take this opportunity of thanking the friends, neighbors and all who so kindly assisted in any way during the death of their mother; also the school children for their flowers.
