A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 20, at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel.
Diane was born on March 18, 1929, in Buffalo, N.Y., to the late Robert Carl and Dorothea Beeson Kirchofer. She was an avid knitter and Wolfpack fan. As a textile artist, her work is on permanent display at North Carolina State University. She was active in many organizations such as the DAR Crossnore School, The Arts at NC State and GHA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Howard and brother, Roger Kirchofer.
She is survived by her children, Paula Kabello and husband, Peter, of Wendell, N.C., Thea Gardner and husband, Larry, of Apex, N.C., and Libby Buck of King, N.C.; son, Bill Howard of Fort Myers, Fla.; and six grandchildren, Alby Rose, Roger Rose, Lauren Gardner, Robbie Gardner, Fletcher Buck and Daulton Buck.
