One son, Herbert Scott, Jr.; one sister, Pauline Hughes; one brother, William P. Patterson; and one great granddaughter, Nydaea Wicks preceded her in death.
She received her formal education in the Albemarle County Schools and was a graduate of Albemarle Training School. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and a member of Union Run Baptist church where she served as a Deaconess, attended Sunday School; and Bible Study; also was active on the Deaconess Council of Charlottesville and vicinity; She was a homemaker and created a loving home for her family. She was a wonderful mother to her church family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and a great mother-in-law. She will be forever missed by everyone.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Lorenzo A. Scott and King Arthur Scott; four daughters, Elsie M. Mills, Theresa Z. Brock, Darlene D. Scott, Rebecca L. Scott, and Barbara J. Banks; one brother-in-law, John Scott; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-six great- grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; three dear friends, Reverend Harold and Virginia Hallock, and Mrs. Woltz; and a number of nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services were held Friday, February 27, 2009 at Union Run Baptist Church.
