Ed was the son of Ernest Elwood & Margie Marie (Biddle) Stalvey.

Ed grew up in Rossville, GA. He graduated from Rossville HS, then attended Georgia Tech. He married a Rossville girl, Betty Lecroy in 1961. They just went to a church and got married. He joined the Air Force and made it a career. He served for over 20 years and served in the intellegence branch in Packastan, Viet Nam, Hawaii, Germany and the United States before retiring as a S/Sgt. He lived in Dayton, OH and in Omaha, Nebraska. He later worked for TRW in Denver, Colorado as a consultant. His last residence was in Aurora, CO.

He and Betty had 3 children: Cynthia Jane "Cindy" (b. 1969), Angela Terese "Angie" (b. 1970) & Martin Edward "Marty" (b. 1973)

He had 3 siblings: Lora Frances "Fran" (b. 1935), Ernestine Marie "Tina" (b. 1939) & Ernest Elwood, Jr. "Ernie (b. 1953). He also lost a brother at birth Charles Elwood, born & died Feb. 2, 1937.
