Benjamin and his first wife, Ann Fielding Rhodes were married October 17, 1872 in Lancashire, England. They immigrated from Rochdale, Parish Heywood, Lancashire, England on Dec. 6, 1877 on the SS Siberia to the Port of Boston, Mass. They moved on to Lowell, Massachusetts. From there, they moved to Canada by 1881. By 1890 to South Carolina, then c. 1893 to Wilson County, North Carolina, then by 1900 to Jackson, Union County, North Carolina. Ann died between 1900 and 1907. Ben is next on the census in Huntsville, Madison County, Alabama in 1910 with second wife, Jessie Alabama Crawford. Ben and Jessie married on November 20, 1907 in Talladega County, Alabama. He and Jessie must have moved briefly to Cedartown, Polk County, Georgia, where Harry was born, then on to Huntsville, Madison County, Alabama where daughter, Jessie was born. From there they moved to Phoenix City, Lee County, Alabama where another daughter, Annie was born, then to Cedartown, Georgia where they settled. Benjamin's work was connected to the cotton fields/cotton mills/thread mills. The cotton field work and connected mills were seasonal work. He probably moved where he could get work. His parents were Robert Nuttall and Sarah Ann Taylor.
