Born to Anderson and Marcia (Anderson) Chandler in Fayette County, Illinois were James Madison (b. 1825, m. 1st Martha Beck 1845, 2nd Helen Cook 1871, 3rd Mary Jane Wood 1877), Julia Ann (b. 1826, m. 1st Zela Dycus 1841, 2nd Thomas Jackson 1862, 3rd Christian F. Strome 1873) and David (b. 1836).
Anderson Chandler married second Nancy Reed on 20 November 1855 in Fayette County.
Anderson Chandler died on 25 April 1856 in Bowling Green Township (now Carson Township), Fayette County, Illinois. He was laid to rest next to his first wife in Welch Cemetery. Their two graves markers are off by themselves in the old part of the cemetery, along the far southwest edge. Given the large open space nearby, it is felt likely that other family members were also buried in proximity in the old part of the cemetery, and that their headstones are now missing.
