Marine Corps 2nd Lt. Robert DUZAN Jr., 26, died about 6 a.m. Thursday during a training exercise at Yuma, Ariz. Marine officials said Lt. Duzan was jogging with fellow members of the 2nd Land Battalion when he apparently suffered a heart attack. He was born Aug. 23, 1960 in San Diego, Calif., to Robert H. and Phyllis Jean HOLLOWAY DUZAN. He was a member of the Mentone Masonic Lodge. A 1978 graduate of Rochester High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy Sept. 1, 1978. In 1981, he was selected for the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Md. Upon graduation from the Academy in 1985, he received a commission as a second lieutenant in the Marine Corps. He had been stationed at Yuma for a year. Surviving are the parents, of Rt. 2, Rochester; three sisters, Mrs. Jerry (Debra) MILLER, Warsaw; Mrs. Greg (Dona) LOWE, Rochester, and Mrs. Doug (Dana) TYLER, North Manchester; a nephew, Richard Erick MILLER, Warsaw; the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph C. DUZAN, Rt. 1, Akron, and aunts, uncles and cousins. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. Russell WILBUR officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery with military rites by a U.S. Marine Corps honor guard. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, and on Monday from 9 a.m. through services. Masonic rites will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
