Glen, who was stationed at the US Naval Barracks, Port Chicago, died in a huge explosion as two munition ships were being loaded. See the Port Chicago Sailor memorial for the Golden Gate National Cemetery for more information about the accident and ensuing mutiny. Altogether, 320 men perished in the explosion.
