Born Mar 1806 in Nobleboro, Lincoln, Maine. Son of Ezekiel Moody(1781-1862)and Mary "Polly" Benner (1779-1861). Husband of Louisa Catherine Simmons (1805-1885). They were married 29 Sep 1833 in Waldoboro, Lincoln, Maine. Jacob and Louisa had 4 children: CAROLIN "CARRIE" LOUISA MOODY, Llewellyn W Moody, Mary Catherine Moody, and Delia "Della" Farley Moody.

Even though he lived to be only 33, he was a very fine furniture maker. Our family has been passed down a dining room table and two sets of chairs that he maide. The chairs were made out of cherry wood, while the dining room table appears to be maple. Our first cousins inherited his dressers and they also were finely made.

Both his father's line and his mother's line have a connection to royalty in some way... On his father's side, Edmund Moodye (1498-1562) was the footman of King Henry VIII and on his mother's side, he is a descendant of Matthias (Adopted)Benner real surname Von St Andre). The Von St Andre family OWNED the village of Konigsbach in Baden Durlach, Germany.

Jacob Moody was very good with his hands and exceptionally good working with wood. Our family still uses the original dining room table made by Jacob Moody sometime between 1833-1839...
