Bess Catlin, b. in Omaha, NE per her death certificate, was the 4th child of Thomas Catlin (b. 1858) and Hattie Bellman (b. 1862), both born in Russia or Germany per censuses. Her siblings included John, Paxton, Harry, Dorothy, Bernard, and Morton (per censuses). By 1900 the family is found in St. Louis (City) and Bess had married Herman Green by 1915 when their son Preston was born. Their other son Harold was b. in 1922.
