Sarah was born in Virginia, parents unproven. She is most likely the daughter of Lambert KIMBLE and his wife Barbara LNU of Hampshire Co., VA, and a sibling to Catherine KIMBLE, wife of Jacob SMITH, Charles SMITH's brother; i.e., sisters married brothers.
Illegible handwriting has led to her name being recorded as both KIMBLE and TRIMBLE. Later publications refer to her as Sarah KIMBLE, therefore, I have chosen to use KIMBLE as her maiden name for this memorial.
She married Charles Smith 05 May 1811 in Hardy County, VA (now WV). Their children:
- Jacob C. SMITH
- Mahala SMITH
- John C. SMITH
- Elizabeth SMITH
- Susan SMITH
- Sarah A. SMITH lived in Illinois
- Matilda SMITH
- Phoebe SMITH possibly buried in either Nodaway County, MO or Morris County, KS
- Eliza Jane SMITH
