EASTOVER - Services for Thelma S. Wallace, 74, will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wallace died Friday, March 20, 2009. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Lewis R. and Lorena Kelly Simmons. She loved going to the beach where she gathered shell for crafts. She also raised cockatiels and peach-faced love birds. Other hobbies included growing roses and making memory boxes and other crafts for her family.

Mrs. Wallace believed in and lived by the Bible. A survivor of leukemia, she was a member of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mrs. Wallace is survived by son, David Wallace of Eastover; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley W. and James Lemacks of Eastover; sisters, Barbara Bussey and Marjorie Edwards, both of Eastover; grandchildren, James Lemacks, Jr. of Sumter and Linda Lemacks Abney of Hopkins; and great-grandchildren, Bruce Joe Davis and Brooke-Lynn Jade Lemacks. She was predeceased by her husband of fifty-seven years, Jack Henry Wallace; brother, J.C. Simmons; and granddaughter, Robin Denise Lemacks.
