Jacob Emerson {Emmerson}, age 29,
a farmer, born in Virginia, enlisted
with the 8th Missouri Volunteer Cavalry,
USA on August 2, 1862 at Marshfield,
Missouri as a Pvt. in Company
"G". September 1862 On Duty as Cook.
October 6, 1862 Died in Springfield,
Missouri Hospital of Brain Fever.
* Noted: Wright County, Missouri USGenWeb
..site states: Born: December 24, 1822.
{Small Discrepancy has to be over-looked
per Birth Year and Age. 1862-39= 1823.}
Wounded in Battle at Wilson's Creek. -
This Battle occurred before the
8th Missouri Volunteer Cavalry Regiment
was formed. - Ralph Biggs

- Extra: Name was spelled Both ways;
however MOST Muster Roll Cards used One 'm'.
This is the reason I added both spellings.
* One historian wrote EVERY name any Clerk wrote!
I've accounted for One man with TEN different Names!
DUE to spellings by NUMEROUS CLERKS!
Would have hated to been on Patrol with only
one man when all -10- Names were Posted for Duty!
