Julia Buchanan Beck, 86, of Buff Creek Road, Sylva, died unexpectedly Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007, at her residence.
Services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, at Buff Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gerald Morris officiating. Burial was in Addie Cemetery.
A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, she was a daughter of the late Napoleon and Luetta Green Buchanan. She worked as a seamstress with Sylco and enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, sewing and decorating. She was a member of Buff Creek Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Clyde Beck; two sisters, Cora Birdie Hall and Daisy Shepherd; and one brother, Carl Buchanan.
Surviving are several nephews and nieces.
Memorials may be made to the Addie Cemetery Fund.
