May her memory be eternal. Anna Pappas Paras (Paraskevas) passed away peacefully on January 19, 2009. Anna was born March 16, 1918 in Magna, UT to Gus and Viola Pappas. She married George Paras (Paraskevas) on January 21, 1945 and he preceded her in death in1994. George and Anna settled in Ruth, NV and spent many years living amongst their family members and friends. Anna dedicated her life to her family, and her work as a librarian and school secretary, Ruth Elementary School, Ruth, NV. She was preceded in death by her parents, her many sisters and one brother, nieces and nephews. She is survived by her son John G. Paras, step-grandaughter, Katie, her daughter Barbara Georgopoulos (Larry), grandchildren, Alexandra and Elias. Anna was an active member of her church, Daughters of Penelope, and loved having lunch with her friends. She conducted her life with dignity, a kind word and a soft touch. She was a friend to all, never turning anyone away.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 24, 2009, 1:00 P.M., Holy Trinity Cathedral, 300 South 300 West, SLC. Viewing was held Friday, January, 23, 2009 6:00-8:00 PM, Prayer Service 7:00 PM, Deseret Mortuary 36 East 700 South, Salt Lake City. Interment: Ely City Cemetery, Ely, Nevada, on Monday, January 26, 2009, at 12:30 p.m., Nevada time, under the direction of the Deseret Mortuary, Salt Lake City.
