At 9:05 Wednesday morning August 10th,1932 the sweet spirit of Mrs. F. M. Meyer winged its flight back to the God who gave it.
"Grandma" Meyers as she was known to her many friends has been suffering from complication of ailments for almost a year, and all that willing hands and loving care could do was done to relieve her suffering. Although she had suffered for such a long time, she bore it all patiently, never complaining for when asked she would always say "I am alright."
Anna Elizabeth Sleyster was born near Dalton, Missouri November 11, 1856 and departed this life, August 10, 1932. On November 12, 1876 she was married to Mr. F. M. Meyer who survives her. Besides her aged husband she leaves to mourn her loss, 1 daughter, Mrs. F. W. Kuhlman of near Keytesville, six grandchildren, two brothers, Louis of Moberly and Otto of Texas; five sisters, Mrs. Geo. Bucksath and Mrs. Chas. Jaeger of Dalton; Mrs. William Kuhler of near Keytesville; Mrs. Nettie Doerrie of Moberly; and Mrs. S. L. Everhart. of Texas; one daughter, Mrs. Hubert Bondy; one brother, Julius and two sisters Mrs. August Manson and Mrs. William Oldvader having preceded her in death.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother having spent her entire life for the comfort of others, having reared several children, other than her own.
For fifty-five years she was a true and devoted member of the Lutheran Church and remained a steadfast member unto the end. During her illness this was a source of great comfort to her and when the end drew near she was fully prepared to meet her Savior.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. J. Boehne at the Lutheran Church, Friday at 2:30. Interment was in Elliott Grove cemetery.
