Christopher Larson enlisted on October 13, 1864 from Franklin, Wisconsin, for 3 years as a Private in Company E, 12th Wisconsin Infantry. He and a group of recruits joined this regiment near Atlanta, GA, just before taking part in Sherman's "March to the Sea" followed by the Carolina Campaign. After marching in the post-war Grand Review in Washington, DC, the unit was sent to Louisville, KY to muster out. PVT Larson may have been sick when he mustered out on July 5, 1865, for he died ten days later on July 15, 1865 at Louisville. My gg-granduncle, CPL Wm Moshier, served with PVT Christopher Larson in Co E, 12th WI Infantry.
