Richard 'Dick' Mollica, 78, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, at home in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born in Altoona, PA. Mr. Mollica was a supervising engineer with I&M with 40 years of service and was a U.S. Navy, Korean War veteran. He was a member of United Methodist Church of the Covenant, a lifetime member of American Legion Post 47 and a former member of Masonic Lodge 359 and Scottish Rite. He was a volunteer at Kate's Cart and Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana. Survivors include a son, Thomas R. Mollica of Knoxville, TN; a daughter, Lisa K. Gibson of Fort Wayne; grandchildren: Kristin M. and Dustin J. Gibson and Sydney A. Mollica, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Joanne M. Mollica, in 2007; parents, Daniel and Filomena Mollica; brothers: Gerard and Amedey Mollica; and a sister, Lilia Knab. A service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church of the Covenant, 10001 Coldwater Road, Fort Wayne, IN, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, IN. Burial, Highland Park Cemetery.
