Rebecca Pierce was born Friday, July 18, 1952, in Bokchito, to Lester and Zelma (Brown) Meals. She passed from this life Saturday, Jan, 10, 2009, in Calera at the age of 56 years, 5 months and 23 days old. She was a member of the Durant's Lion Club and served as fourth vice president of 2007-2008. She was the Lions Club Member of the Year in 2007. Rebecca worked for Bryan County Youth Services as a counselor. She had a passion for her work and loved working with children. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in psychology and sociology. She earned her LPC License. Rebecca was a 20-year member at Victory Life Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kenneth Wayne Pierce; daughter Vivian Pierce; son Brian Keith Pierce; brother Thomas Lewis Meals; sisters Josephine Burton, Linda Martin, Georgia Sue Moody, Jalaska Drinkard, Zelda Mae Meals, Wilma Jean Neagle and Loretta Meals.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Victory Life Chapel in Durant. Bro. Lee Armstrong will be officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
