Matthew RICHESON was the son of John RICHESON and his first wife, Susan RUCKER, both of VA.

Matthew's father John remarried to Elizabeth HILL of VA. His father and stepmother moved the family from VA to Carroll Co, MO around 1857. They settled near Bogard where they farmed for the rest of their lives. Most of their children appear to have stayed in MO, and several remained in Carroll Co.
