Amos was a Deacon in the Northern Baptist Church. Four of his sons were also Deacons in the church.
The town of Dolgeville, New York, used to be called Brockett's Bridge after the Brocketts.
Amos was the son of Samuel Brockett and Ruth Bradley.
Amos married Lucy Dutton 27 March 1783 in Southington, Hartford County, Connecticut, and he brought her with him to Herkimer County, New York.
When Alfred Dolge came to town, he started a felt factory, which gave jobs and money to the area of Brockett's Bridge. It was decided the name of the town should be changed to honor the new, very helpful citizen.
