Born in the little community of Nelta, Texas, she lived in Cheek since 1944 until her move to Friendswood in May of 2006.
A graduate of South Park High School she retired from Beaumont ISD in 1990 with thirty three years as a food service manager.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Maud Chester, son Melvin Richey, husband Herbert B. Richey, husband G.E. (Jack) Labove, friend Roland Lee, brother Eldred Chester and his wife Nola.
Surviving are her daughter Suzanne Davani and husband Azad; son Leon Richey and wife Minnie; seven grandchildren and their families; eleven great grandchildren; niece, nephew and families; her extended family Bob Bennett, wife Edithe and children Candace and Kyle.
