"Another of the prominent early lawyers of Fayette County was John Kennedy, afterwards a judge of the Supreme Court of PA. He was born in Cumberland Co, near Shippensburg, and was a son of Thomas Kennedy, a prominent public man in that section of the State. Graduating at Dickinson College, in the same class with Roger B.
