Leaves a wife & one Ch. Died at Jackson, Tenn. Sept. 2, 1862, of wounds. Served as the first sergeant of Co. F, 45th Illinois Infantry. (Called the "Leadmine Regiment"). Died at Medon Depot, (Madison Co.), Tenn.. by 400 Guerillas who attacked the 150-man post there.
His wife Laura E. Crittenden applied for a widows pension Feb. 29, 1864.
