HOUSWORTH, Kathleen Simms Housworth departed this life for her heavenly home September 27, 2009 at age 95.

Born in Newton County, GA in 1913 she married M. Carl Housworth, Sr. in 1935. He predeceased her in December 1994.

She graduated high school in Newton County and was unable to attend college. Pursuing her dream to become a school teacher she was able to attend Georgia State University and received her Bachelor of Arts degree at age 55. She was gratified to be able to teach elementary school for a number of years.

She is survived by sons Marvin and Ann Housworth, Atlanta, GA; and Hugh and Harriette Housworth, Monticello, GA Also surviving are six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at Smyrna Presbyterian Church, Conyers, Ga. on Thursday, October 1 at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 30 at Scot Ward Funeral Services from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm in Conyers, GA. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Osteoporosis Foundation or Smyrna Presbyterian Church, Conyers, GA.
