Bernice Cross Sherman went home to be with her Lord on Monday, November 17, 2008. She was born in Laurel, Mississippi, on November 11, 1922. She is preceded in death by her husband Romaine Sherman; sister, Leah Baumann; and brother, A.B. Cross, Jr. She is survived by her six children, Judy Sherman, Sibbie Lancon, Janet Waldie and husband David, J.R. "Chipper" Sherman and wife Martha, Karen Shepherd and husband David, and Leslie Nelson and husband Jim. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Mike and Chris Lancon, Lance Waldie, Piper Joyce, Jessica Dorough, Josh and Kirk Sherman, Jess Delz, and Holly and Brice Nelson; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous more relatives and close friends.
Bernice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a friend to many and will be missed by all who loved her.
