One of the saddest funerals occurred here last Thursday when the remains of George Shipp were laid to rest. He had suffered with appendicitis for more than a year, but recently seemed to be improving in health after having undergone several operations during his sickness. Last Tuesday morning he collapsed while sitting by the breakfast table, suffering much until relieved by death at eight o'clock Wednesday evening. He was about 20 years old and is survived by a father and mother, a brother Halsie, and a sister, Ruth. Rev. T. M. Isbel conducted the service at the residence and Rev. Moreland had charge at the cemetery. (Denton Record Chronicle, Feb. 19, 1916, p.3, col.6, under Sanger News) His parents were Thomas George Shipp and Lillian Estelle Manahan
