FRANCES D. ADAMS, 87, of Memphis died October 3, 2008. She lived at the Belmont Village for the past year. Born in Union, Mississippi, she attended Millsaps College and worked in aerial mapping at the U.S. Geological Survey during World War II. Her work history included substitute teaching at Grahamwood Elementary, jobs at Goldsmith's and Equifax, and her favorite job as an executive secretary with Dobbs International Services. She and her husband were charter members of Independent Presbyterian Church. They traveled extensively after her retirement. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Mounger F. Adams. She is survived by her son, Paul L. Adams, and his wife Genie. A visitation will be held Tuesday, October 7, at Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 until 7 p.m. Services will be Wednesday, October 8, at 11:00 a.m., at Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
