Fawn J. Brockbank, 65, 777 East South Temple, former president of the Salt Lake City Junior Chamber of Commerce auxiliary and wife of former Utah State Senator W. Hughes Brockbank, died Friday, at her home of a heart attack
Mrs. Brockbank was active in many civic affairs, serving as first president of the Chamber of Commerce auxiliary in 1944. After her one-year term as president, Mrs. Brockbank helped organize the state Jaycettes and other Jaycee auxiliaries.
During 1934 and 1935, she was involved in local theatrical groups and continued being active in church dramas.
Raises Money
Before the University Medical Center was in operation, Mrs. Brockbank helped raise money for the center during the initial citizen’s fund drive.
She graduated from Wasatch High School in Heber City and later attended Utah State University where she was active in drama and theatre and was a member of the Sorosis Sorority.
Born April 5. 1912, Heber City, to Thomas and Crlss M. Jones. She married W. Hughes Brockbank, May 9, 1936, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Survivors: Husband; two sons. Gary. H. Brockbank, Salt Lake City, and Norman L. Brockbank, Oakland. California, one daughter, Bonnie J. Huish, Salt Lake City; a sister. Fern J. Meyer, Salt Lake City and a brother, Richard Jones, Heber City, Utah; 10 grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Stephen L. Brockbank and a daughter, Judith L. Beesley.
Funeral Services will be conducted Monday 12 noon in the LDS 21st Ward, 680-3rd Avenue. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Sunday from 6 to 8 p. m. and Monday at the ward one hour prior lo services.
Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Family suggests contributions to the Stephen L. Brockbank Memorial Fund, University of Utah.
