Mrs. Verna Thompson Halpin, aged 36 years old, wife of George Halpin, Jr. of Magnolia Avenue, New Egypt, died on Wedneday, May 31, 1950 at Jeanes Hospital, Fox Chase, Pa.
Mrs. Halpin was born in Hornerstown, the daughter of Arthur and Flossie Hance Johnson. She was a member of the Plumsted Presbyterian Church, the Willing Workers Society of the church and the Ladies' Auxiliary of the New Egypt Fire Company.
The survivors are her husband, George Halpin, Jr.; seven children, George Halpin III, Helen, Ruth, Edwin, Margaret, Joy, and Bonnie Lee; her parents Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Johnson,of the Monmouth Road, and four sisters, Mrs. Emley of New Egypt, Mrs. Edward Nixon of Sykesville, Mrs. Evans
Conine and Mrs. Arnold Conine of Allentown.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Plumsted Presbyterian Church, Front Street, in New Egypt. Mr. Robert Briggs, of the Princeton Theological Seminary, will officiate.
Interment will be in the Jacobstown Baptist cemetery under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.
