GENOA - (Special) - Michael Nansel, 91, a retired farmer who had lived in Genoa since 1924, died early this morning in the Genoa hospital.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Hasch Funeral chapel and at 2 p.m. at the Okay church northwest of Monroe, with the Rev. Mr. Phillips in charge. Burial will be in the Okay cmemtery.
Mr. Nansel, born July 8, 1867 at Wahoo, Ill., was the son Conrad and Anna Gertrude Nansel. He married Catherine Marie Dreyer at Council Bluffs. Ia., on Feb. 4, 1891, and she preceded him in death April 27, 1947.
Survivors include seven children, Vernon of Genoa, Harry, Carl and Floyd of Columbus, Ora of Los Angeles, Mrs. Edith Hughes and Mrs. Betty Smith of Monroe; 24 grandchildren and 55 great grandchildren; also a niece Anna Green Keeler whom the Nansels reared from the age of five. A daughter, Gertrude, died Jan. 4, 1925.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Hughes, Harold Nanse, Alvin Smith, James Westring, John Weber and John Rogan.
