CARTHAGE - Funeral services for Lillian Gallman Bagley, 104, of Monroe, La., were held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 22, 2008, at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel in Rayville, La., with Dr. Ernest Winburn officiating. Interment will follow in Rayville Masonic Cemetery.

Lillian Gallman Bagley was born April 13, 1904, in Bay Springs, Miss., and she passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2008, in Monroe, La.

Mrs. Bagley was the first woman supply officer appointed by the Louisiana State Police, when she lived in Baton Rouge, La. Earlier in her life, she worked for the Telephone Co. and the Louisiana State Hospital in Shreveport, La., as a laboratory technician assistant. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and worker for 25 years. Lillian was a former member of Fort Miro Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Bagley had lived in Monroe, La., for many years, moving there in from Panola County, Texas, where she was a member of the DeBerry Baptist Church and the Mount Zion UMC.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Herman Bagley.

Local survivors include her niece, Shirley Bagley Keen and husband, Bobby; and nephew, Wayne Bagley and wife, Linda, all of Carthage. Other family members include nieces and nephews from the Bagley and Gallman families.
