Although she was known as Lula Josephine, her father's German prayer book gives her name as Louise Johanna.

Funeral Services Held
Sunday Afternoon For
Mrs. Theo Searcy

The death of Mrs. Theodore Searcy occurred at the family home Friday, May 28.

Funeral services were conducted at the Baptist Church by the pastor, Rev. Earl R. Keating, on Sunday afternoon at 3:30. The pastor spoke impressively of the outstanding cheerfulness and patience that had characterized the deceased through an eight year period of invalidism. Mrs. Pierce and Hazel sang a beautiful duet; Rev. Baird sang a solo, and Miss Hazel Pierce sang a solo, all selections being favorite hymns of Mrs. Searcy. Mrs. Robinson (nee Naomi Haynes) presided at the piano.

There was a beautiful and profuse array of floral tribute.
Interment was in Mount Vista Cemetery.

Mrs. Searcy was held in great esteem by all who were privileged to know her

Lula Josephine Butze, daughter of Ernest and Julia Butze, was born at Golconda, Ill., Dec 13, 1872 being 64 years, five months, and fifteen days of age at the time of her death.

She was married to Joseph Theodore Searcy, September 30, 1891, at Golconda, Ill. To this union weere born six children, five of whom are now living, a daughter, Katie, having preceded her mother in death by a number of years.

Mrs. Searcy had been a communicant of the Baptist faith since 1907.

She, with her family, moved to Alamogordo 17 years ago. For the past eight years she had been an invalid. Through all these years she had been patient, cheerful, and thoughtful of others.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband; three daughters: Edna Searcy; Mrs. Mary Polk; Bernice Searcy; two sons, Robert Searcy and Henry Searcy; two sisters, Mrs. John Gulsby, Golconda, Ill.; Mrs. Frank J.
