Mrs. Maria Walters, 86, of Calcasieu, died at 11:30 p.m. at her residence, May 16, 1950. She is survived by sons, John Walters of Simpson, Charles Lee Walter and Simon Walters of Calcasieu, and Willie Walters of Pitkin; daughters, Mrs. Bess Edwards of Zimmerman, Mrs. Alice Edwards of Calcasieu, Mrs. Maggie Johnson of Glenmora, and Mrs. Lillie Jackson of Simpson; three sisters, Mrs. B. Richie, Mrs. Margaret Boswell, and Mrs. G. Boswell, all of Simpson, 38 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, May 18, 1950 in the Pen Ile Baptist Church near Melder. Interment will be in the Melder Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Bros. Funeral Home.
