Services for Bobbie E. Allison, 88, of Tyler, are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2008, in the chapel of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in the Chandler Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be Monday 5 to 7 p.m. at Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home.
Mr. Allison died July 26, 2008 in a local hospice facility. He was born June 19, 1920, in Tyler to the late B.E. Allison and Ethel Bailey Allison. He has lived in the Tyler area and surrounding area all his life. He is a retired Postal Clerk and a Baptist. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy Allison; six brothers; three sisters; and a grandson, Randy Williams.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Ida B. Allison of Tyler; sons, Donnie Allison and wife Phyllis of San Antonio, Bobbie Allison and wife Glenda of Tullahoma, Tenn.; daughter, Joyce Mason and husband, Delbert of New Chapel Hill; nine grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Terry, Brian Allison, David Williams, Gary Beard, Troy Allison and Eddie Allison.
Honorary pallbearers are Felix Sanchez and Charles Hayden.
