Elmira "Ella" Shackelford was the daughter of John William Shackelford and Sallie Rowe of Essex County, Virginia. She married John Henry Clark on October 1, 1926 in Baltimore, Maryland. She died of pneumonia and her body was taken by steamship from Baltimore to Ware's Wharf in Essex County. She was survived by her husband and their daughter, Mary.
