Story of the Sargent Family 7-4-1972
by Ella Peterson Sargent

Clara, the only girl of the family, also attended the "agricultural school" where she met her future husband, George Grant. In 1910 they were married. They farmed in Canada, Featherstone township in Minnesota, and in Burnside. Georges death from pneumonia in 1927 was very sad experience for us all and of course especially for his immediate family. There were six children in the family.

1) Hazel, the eldest, married Raymond Clemmer, a Minister with the Missionary Alliance.
They served in China as missionaries and later in the Philippines and also served several parishes in the United States. They have three grown up, married children.
1. William
2. Vera Mae
3. Josephine

2) Ralph, the second child, married Edna Reko following his graduation from the University of Minnesota. He served as county agent in several counties in Minnesota and also served as manager of the University's experimental farm in Duluth. Now he is an expert in animal husbandry at Rosemont and lives in St. Paul. He received his doctorate from the University of Minnesota a few years ago. He and Edna have two daughters.
1. Virginia (Ginger)
2. Kathleen

3&4] The twins, Mary and Muriel, were born in 1912. Mary married Sterling Stageberg, and had four sons.
1. Gene
2. Willis
3. Grant
4. Dennis

Muriel married Lars Hjermstad and is the mother of 3 children.
1. Carol (married)
2. Lowell (married)
3. Mary (married)
