A 10-year-old boy died Sunday after swimming in an apartment complex pool and inhaling water. Several witnesses told police that Johnny Jackson was in the shallow end of the Branchwood Apartments pool about noon. Afterward, he went to his apartment in the complex and took a nap because he was sleepy. When someone checked on him, water was coming out of his nose, and he was not breathing well. He was taken to Trident Hospital, where he died. It was the boy's first time swimming. The boy's lungs were filled with water and he died of asphyxiation. There was nothing suspicious about the death.
