5, 2002 at Bethlehem AME Church. The Rev. Willie F. Griffen will officiate and interment is in Crestview Cemetery. Active pallbearers are friends of the family. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herbert McBride. He was a lifetime resident of Cairo, attended Grady County public schools and retired from the Cairo Messenger as a janitor. Survivors include sisters, Lula M. Waddel of Los Angeles, Calif., Jeanette Willis of Cairo; a brother-in-law, Joe Rufus Willis of Cairo; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and a special nephew, James Johnson.
