Minnie was born Johanna Louise Dube, a daughter of Michael Dube & Maria E. Roehle. She was born in Dobberphul, Prussia, Pyritz County, Germany. She married August Nickel.∼Mrs. Wilhelmine Nickel, nee Dube, was born on January 7, 1857 at Dobberpful in Germany. After being united in Holy wedlock with Mr. August Nickel on September 4, 1881, the young couple emigrated to America. They settled in the vicinity of Western, Nebraska, and have been living in this part of the country ever since. Seven children were born to them, of whom one has died. Shortly after their golden wedding anniversary Mrs. Nickel became seriously sick. She passed away November 3 leaving to mourn her departure her husband Mr. August Nickel, three sons, Messers. Herman, Arthur, and William Nickel, three daughters, Mrs. Mary Elske, Mrs. Martha Fritz and Mrs. Emma Fritz, three daughters in law, three sons in law, 17 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Mrs. Nickel had attained the age of 74 years 9 months and 27 days.
