Donnell Courson Mancil

August 27, 1930 — October 29, 2013


Ms. Donnell C. Mancil age 83 of Axson, Ga. passed away Tuesday October 29, 2013 at Baptist Village in Waycross, Ga. following an extended illness. Born August 27, l930 in Appling County, Ms. Mancil was the daughter of the late Archie and Laura Smith Courson.

She worked for many years as a seamstress and was also a homemaker. She loved to cook and bake and work in her yard, especially her rose bushes. Her church membership was at the Goodwill Assembly of God Church in Pearson, Ga..


She was preceded in death by a son Danny Carroll Mancil.


Survivors include: 2 Daughters: Martha Royals of Pearson, Ga. Diane Adams and husband Mike of Pearson, Ga. 3 Sons: Micky Mancil and wife Linda of Pearson, Ga. Henry Mancil of Axson, Ga. Bobby Mancil and wife Judy of Axson, Ga. 2 Sisters: Marie Murray of Blackburg, S. C. Lillian Aycock, Baxley, Ga. 15 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild and several Nieces and Nephews also survive.


Funeral services for Ms. Mancil were held Thursday, October 31, 2013 at the Goodwill Assembly of God Church in Pearson, Ga. with Glenda Lang, Rev. Harold Barnes and Rev. Raymond Cason officiating. Special musical selections were "Amazing Grace" and "Precious Lord" rendered acapalla by soloist Stacy Sutton. Soft music for the Prelude and Postlude was played by Rita Spikes pianist. The interment followed in the Antioch Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were grandsons: Andy Royals, Mark Royals, Brian Mancil, Willie Carl Mancil, Kameron Cason and Robbie Mancil. Honorary pallbearers were: Van Streat, Terry Palmer, Gary Vickers, Jerry Burch, Dennis Wright, Lewis Gurley, Steve Sirmans and James Quinn.
